[Opinions] Friend’s Sister’s BA
My friend’s sister just had a baby. A boy named Otto-Louis. I mentioned to him that it’s not my style, but that it’s classic and at least there won’t be five more in his class. He replied,“I don’t know about classic, but it certainly lets the world know that the Franco-Prussian war is behind us.” LOL

I really like it! My father's side is 100% German but I love French names so I could picture using something similar in the future. Otto is actually a family name for me, I really like it with Louis too but only the French pronunciation.

Definitely a classic comment! Are they English, French or German-speaking, or a combination?

I'm not sure about the sister's husband since I've never met them, but my friend's family speaks English. Their father is from France and they spent a lot of time there as kids. I'm wondering if the sister's husband has some German roots, and maybe that's where that part comes from.

I live Otto, and Louis is okay.

Historical namesakes aside, this is still a cool name.

Love Otto, it’s such a sweet name. Not a fan of double-barrel names though — I like Otto Louis as a fn and mn combo.

Otto Louis isn't my style either, particularly Otto.
