With the right herritage it the right area, it would be very nice. I just can't see any person being named Artair though.
I find it better then Arthur, which I am not a fan of.

I don't like either. My first thought was "artery" (the Swedish word, artär, sounds a bit like Artair).

I like it, but I think it would trip people up. I have a friend named Padraigh, and NOBODY can wrap their head around it being kind of like Patrick but not actually being Patrick.

That's a fantastic point. I think most people are pronouncing it AR-tair, instead of AR-ter and that would obviously be problematic.Thank you!

No, I don't think Artair is usable. It sounds like a really phony posh pronunciation of Arthur, like somebody imitating a stereotypical French waiter. But more, it sounds like an art supply, like something that lets you paint on an airplane.
