If you'd never seen Moraine before, would you assume that it was a 'legitimate' name or something that someone had made up? If you think it passes the "is it really a name" test, what do you think of it? :-) I've been into -aine names lately, like
Romaine,
Charmaine,
Elaine,
Germaine,
Lorraine, and the sound of Moraine coincided nicely with the rest of them.
I should note that I do know what a moraine is, by the way. And if anyone is familiar with glacial topography, it might interest you to know that my boyfriend went to highschool with a kid named Tarn. :-)
