FrithFrith is the Old English word for peace and was occasionally used as a name many centuries ago. I think it’s interesting and refreshing on a person today and wouldn’t mind seeing it used more.

It's been in consistent use (unisex, skewing female) as far back as parish records go in England, although it's rare. Fritha is in use too, although usage of that seems to date from The Snow Goose (the book Anneza mentioned) in which the girl is sometimes Frith, sometimes Fritha.
I like both of them a lot.

I've only seen it used once in South Africa, but that was on a truly great long-distance runner, born in 1964: Frith van der Merwe. She set a women's record for the Comrades Marathon which, I think, still stands, and as a person she was a wonderful role model.Then there's a little girl in a Paul Gallico book called The Snow Goose who is also a Frith. Trying for a traditional British vibe, perhaps?

I am torn between mild depression at Dexter, Kyle and two Liams and incoherent delight at the sheer, sustained wonderfulness of Evangeline Olive Tuppence [siblings Elizabeth Sophia Catherine, Florence Daisy & Benedict Mark Tiberius] - if only little Florence Daisy had a suitably botanical second mn, it would have been perfect. Tuppence and Tiberius! I'll be happy for a week.
