My dad had a great-aunt Euphemia - apparently always Effie.
It's interesting, but not at all attractive to me: somewhere between euphoria and euthanasia! :/

I like it, I like unusual and classic like that, she could go by FeFe or Mia for short

This is another name that I *want* to like but just don’t. Euphemia has a great meaning, a solid history, good associations, and decent nickname options (Euphie, Phee, Mia, etc.). I should like it. But I just don’t. Something about the sound just throws me off and it doesn’t work for me.

I want to like it but all I can think of is “euphemism”.

The strongest associations I have with it are "euphemism" and Effie from Hunger Games. I don't like it for that reason.

But the meaning's positive, and it'd be a unique way for someone to get Emi or Mia as a NN. I'd maybe warm up to it if I knew one or more IRL.

I love it! It’s a name used repeatedly on my DH’s family tree with the last bearer using the nickname Effie. His family pronounces it “EH-fee-me-ah” which is why Effie seems viable as a nickname. I’d love to use it someday though my DH prefers it as a middle name.

It sounds like a disease at first, but it’s got a certain charm to it.

It's cool in a way, but I think the major drawback is lack of a good nickname. At least, a nickname that I like. And I think it's too much of a mouthful to say in full all of the time.

It's not my favorite Eu- name but it is on my PNL. I really like it.

I like it in theory, but it makes me think of "euphemism" too much to ever use it beyond a fictional character.
