WDYT of Nubia as a girls' name? What would you pair it with?

As place names go, it’s not bad. Still not a fan of place names but I can work with it.In keeping with its origin and referent, I think Nubia is best paired with an MN of East African origin:Nubia Taraji
Nubia Tinashe
Nubia Chausiku (actually love this)
Nubia Haregewoin
Nubia Imani (this seems a bit like filler to me though — Imani is VERY common)
Nubia Marjani
Nubia Sauda
Nubia Wanjiru
Nubia Yewubdar

It reminds me of the ancient Nubian people, or of the word "Nubile".

I wouldn’t use it unless I had ethnic/cultural ties to it.
It’s pleasant, as a word. Intriguing and royal-sounding.

Isis? Bellatrix? Ebony? I think it's terminally unsuitable.

I like the sound of it, but it reminds me of words (newbie, nubile, nubby) and an ancient civilization in a way that feels sorta odd. I'd compare it to Corinthia for that reason.Nubia Salvatrix
Nubia Sylvester
Nubia Hester
Nubia Magnolia
Nubia Gladys
Nubia Roxanne
Nubia Saoirse Nightingale

I like the sound of it, but it also sounds sort of fetishizing (idk, lots of stuff about Nubian princesses etc). It also reminds me of Sabine / Sabina. Overall I prefer similar names like Nuria. I'd pair it with dark, round, and slightly mysterious names. Nubia Rose
Nubia Onyx
Nubia Violet
Nubia Amethyst
Nubia Andromeda
Nubia Undine

I remember first coming Nubia in a book, and I liked it back then. Not too sure about it being a region, but I’m not opposed to place names. It has a similar feel to Zenobia (strong, thoughtful, and intelligent) which I love. For combos I like:Nubia Sahar
Nubia Amara /Amirah
Nubia Fae
Nubia Iris
Nubia Saffron
Nubia Tasnim
Nubia Cerys
Nubia Tamar
Nubia Sarai
Nubia Tali
