Oh, I definitely agree about the Patrick on a girl being weird. I'm not sure if I think it's kind of awesome to use the mother's father's actual name, regardless of gender, or if I'd prefer Patricia. I'm thinking about my own great-grandfather who was called Patrick and I honestly don't think that giving a daughter the middle name Patricia would really make me think of him when I thought of the name. I'm still mulling it over.
I added the context for that one from the BA because I thought it was important that people didn't think it was just a random boy's name as a middle name like all of the celebrities suddenly using James as a middle name for their daughters.
