King Philip I of England has reigned for 3 years, since the passing of his father, Henry. Henry was a gentle-spirited man, pious and fond of the arts, but not particularly suited for kingship. When the throne passed to Philip, the country was in turmoil, with several groups threatening rebellion. However, his firm leadership and fondness of the law, as well as war, has meant that England is beginning to settle down again. Philip's Queen Consort, Adeliza, is of Norman descent and has a claim to some territories in what is currently France, but was once part of England's Angevin empire. Philip and Adeliza have a son, Arthur, and a daughter, Constancia, and have been trying to raise their children in relative peace and quiet.
