[Opinions] Pronunciation of Cara
Thanks to everyone who replied to my last post about Cara, Claire, and Blair. :)
I am really starting to like Cara, even though it's not exactly my "usual" taste. The only concern I have is pronunciation. I pronounce Cara, as Care-uh. How does everyone else pronounce it? Also, do you like the combination, Cara Brooke (Brooke is my first name)? Sorry, for asking so many questions, promise this will be the last post from me for awhile! :)

Cara mia why, must be say good-bye
That's how I would pronounce it, as in the Italian Cara (beloved). But then I think "Italian", not "American" when I see this name. Obviously Americans will pronounce it in an American way.

CAR-uh
I pronounce it the same way as you. It goes fine with Brooke.
I'd say care-uh first too, but would have no problem being corrected to car-uh.
Kara, to me, is more clearly the care-uh pronunciation. And it's actually one name where I prefer the K to the C spelling. I'm almost always a C person.

I say Cara as CAR-ah (so like Clara without an l).

It could be said care-uh, like Kara, though for reason with a 'c', I want to say car-ah instead.
I don't think it really matters though. Whatever you prefer.
Cara Brooke runs well together. It almost sounds like the name a creek in Missouri or something though.

I've always heard it pronounced like CAR-uh, with the first syllable sounding like car as in the vehicle. That's in England though, don't know if it's different where you live

I say Cah-rah, with a short 'ah' like in 'cat'.
