My hated health teacher this year is named Judy, so I have horrible associations to this name. That said, I think that the "y" sound makes it cute on a little girl, but I don't know how it would age.

Start calling her Judith. : -)
My mom went by Judy as a young girl, then Judi as she got older. (Not anymore)
