Vile and Vili is the same person, just as Odin and Oden. So I guess it's just a spelling thing.
There's only 85 men named Vile in Sweden, so it's a very unusual name so I'm not really sure how it would be perceived. Vide has gotten a lot more popular the last few years, so I don't think Vile would come across as weird though.
Let us step into the night and pursue that flighty temptress, adventure.
