I don't know about Germany's naming laws, but a lot of countries in Europe have naming laws so people can't just name their kids anything they want.

Ah yes..

I thought that you know a German specific law called 'Edelweiss law' or something like that.

Here in Italy we have naming laws so I agree with what you said.
