[Opinions] Verdiana (f, Italian) and Viridian (m, English)
Hi !!!
Both these names have the same origin: they could come from the Latin virdis "green" or verus/veridicus "true, sincere".
I love the name Verdiana but it is rare (in 2016 were born only 8 of them) while Viridian is its fascinating English masculine form.
WDYTO them?
if you are into etymologies I will add the passages:
1 "green" Viridis - 2 Viridius/Viridia - 3 Viridianus - 4 Viridian (English form) - 4 Viridiano/a (Archaic Italian) - 5 Veridiano/a - 6 Verdiano > Verdiana.
"true, sincere" Verus - Veridicus - Veridianus - Verdiano > Verdiana

I love Verdiana! I came across it years ago while reading about saints. I like the real meaning, but it also makes me think of green, because I like Verdi or Verde as a NN.
Viridian is a GP because I like the color and sound, but it's a bit strange (being a rare word name) plus probably too long for everyday use, and I don't like any potential NNs.

I love viridian as a word, but I've never encountered it as a name. It would be ok for a character, but I don't think I would give it to a real human.
Verdiana is very pretty in Italian. I shudder to imagine how it would be pronounced where I live (southern U.S.).
