Ludmila is pretty dated here, but it's the name of one of the earliest Czech Saints, so it has a historial and national quality to us. Most Ludmilas here go by Lída, it's not only for Lída Baarová, even though most people would first think of her as she's the most famous Lída out there. I don't think many English speaking people are familiar with her life so I think it's safe to use. To my ears, Lyudmila is the most pleasant sounding variant of the name.
