Omar is a popular name here! In 2016 it was #86 for masculine newborns with 384 babies with this name.
Personally I quite dislike it. Umar (Omar) was an early Caliph but I much prefer the name Abbas because there was a powerful and multicultural Empire through Asia ruled by a dynasty with this name.
