As far as I know, it was never popular, so I wouldn't say it's going to have a comeback, but I wouldn't mind seeing it used.
It reminds me of Herman and Lyle, yet seems more likable than both...the meaning's nicer, too.
I think Lyle has made a small comeback in the US.
