[Opinions] BA and a sibset from the early 1900's
I currently write my master's thesis in cultural history and I've been reading a LOT of newspapers from the early 20th century for my study. Today I came across a birth announcement from 1908 with a fun name:"A Healthy Boy born in 22/11 1908 from the free union of Ida and Jalmari J.. We have named him Valo Vapaus in the hope that he will come up to his name." (translated and bolded by me)Valo means "light" (the noun) and Vapaus "freedom" in Finnish: they're both very rare names, especially Vapaus (this is the first time I've seen it used).I also found interesting pair of names for sisters: Zeila (b. 1906) and Birgit Bjarma (b. 1915).What do you think? Also, what are your favorite names meaning "light" or "freedom"?
