I don’t know, I feel people would mishear it as Lolita a lot.

I don't like it much. Never heard of it before.
Seems insubstantial for some reason, even though it's similar to Anita.
Will prob gain popularity because of the movie.

I like Alita. Only time can tell, I still can never figure out why some names become popular than others.

I like Aleida better then Alita, but the sound is pleasant and it could become popular, it is short and simple like Leah, Mia, Anna, so I could see it becoming a popular name.

I worked with a girl with this name about 12 years ago. The way she introduced herself was, "Alita, like a litre of milk". Maybe it would work in a country that doesn't use the metric system but that's how I will always think of Alita. Plus, it's just another A name for girls for people to confuse with Anita, Aminta, Alira etc.
