Help[Games] (Vaguely) 18th Century Royal Family Dice Game
I’ve wanted to create this type of game after getting inspired of several historical/royal games posted here earlier. I hope you like it!
Use your preferred online dice (I myself like http://www.brockjones.com/dieroller/dice.htm).
First, roll a six-sided die for your couple’s home countries:
1: Kingdom of France
2: Kingdom of Spain
3: Kingdom of Great Britain
4: Holy Roman Empire
5: Tsardom of Russia
6: Kingdom of Denmark-Norway
The titles for the main couple will be…
In the kingdoms of France, Spain, Great Britain and Denmark-Norway: King/Queen
In the Holy Roman Empire: Holy Roman Emperor/Empress, Archduke/Archduchess of Austria
In the Tsardom of Russia: Emperor/Empress
If you want to roll for the wife’s former title before her marriage, use the die below the title “Optional”.
Children
Roll a ten-, twelve- or twenty-sided die for number of children, then for genders (odd = boy, even = girl). The titles of children will be…
In the Kingdom of France: Prince/Princess (the oldest son will be Dauphin)
In the Kingdom of Spain: Prince/Princess

In the Holy Roman Empire: Archduke/Archduchess
In the Tsardom of Russia: Grand Duke/Grand Duchess (the oldest son will be Tsesarevich)
In the Kingdom of Denmark-Norway: Prince/Princess (the oldest son will be Crown Prince)
For children, roll an eight-sided die. If it lands on a 1, 3, or 7, they sadly don’t survive to adulthood.
For parents and those children who survived to adulthood, roll a four-sided die. If it lands on a 3, a family member dies tragically in adulthood (e. g. of a disease, in childbirth, in an accident, or is assassinated/executed).
Namebanks
Choose names depending on the nationality you have landed. Feel free to add multiple middle names except with the Russian royalty, who only use a first name with a patronymic: for men, the patronymic will end in “ovich” or “evich” (e. g. Pavel becomes Pavlovich, Dmitry Dmitryevich), and for women, “ovna” and “evna” are used (e. g. Pavlovna and Dmitryevna). If you want to, you can translate the names (e. g. King Philippe (Philip) of France).
