Which do you prefer?
I live is Australia where both names are in use. I've always preferred Archer as a full name with Archie as a nn (I really do have a thing for surnames as FNs) but I always enjoy hearing the softer Archie as a full name. So, thoughts?

I prefer Archer, but I'm not a fan of either.

Archer is an interesting combination of modern tastes with an ancient occupation. It isn't a name I would use, but I definitely prefer it to Archie.
Archie is dated, incomplete, and juvenile sounding. I think it has been in decline with the rise of the Archie comic strip. It sounds very British to me and kind of wet.

I prefer Archie. It's cute and sweet. Archer sounds like an occupation.

Far and away Archer!
Archer is more of a GP for me than something I'd actually use, but I've always loved it. I don't like nickname first names, and even without that I just don't love Archie. Despite the similar sounds, the feel of the two names couldn't be more different to me.

lol sorry, but All in the Family is my first association, and if I'm honest, all they ever did on that show was yell and it hurt my ears. Sorry to any fans out there.
Anyway, I actually prefer Asher over both of them. Archer isn't my style, and I already expressed my opinion on Archie.

You must not have enjoyed Robin Hood, Lord of the Rings (Legolas), Narnia, or Hunger Games if you have something against archers. I agree that occupation names and last names are overdone, but as occupations names go, archers at least have lots of positive representation.
