Two of the better-known roles for children in German-language musical theatre are the young
Rudolf in
Elisabeth, and Amadé, the young version of Mozart in
Mozart! das Musical. These roles have all been played fairly recently by two brothers and a sister,
Aeneas,
Timotheus and
Ilia Hollweg.
Aeneas has done
Rudolf and Amadé,
Timotheus has done
Rudolf, and
Ilia has also done Amadé.
Personally, I think they're a really interesting and well-matched sibset, although
Aeneas and
Timotheus do both feel like they're bordering on a bit Too Much for me,
Aeneas being a great
Roman hero and
Timotheus just sounding very heavy and serious.
What do you guys think?
