I’ve honestly never liked it. I know it has special meaning for the Knowles family, and I don’t begrudge them the name, but I hate it. It’s just a weird, random collection of sounds that rhymes with fiancé. The “yonce” sound is particularly ugly. I feel like all the positive attributes people are listing off describe the person, not the name, because they’re tied together in peoples’ minds. If the name had come to be known because it was the name of a famously trashy person, like a Jersey Shore cast member or that “cash me ousside” girl, we’d all hate it, I’m sure of it.
