A girl told me hear name was "Elanie" today. I don't know if I heard it wrong and it was Melanie. I thought for sure I heard "Elanie". What do you think of the name Elanie. I think it's really pretty.

I love it spelled properly as Eleni. Elanie is lousy.

Is it possible her name could have been spelled Eleni? It's mainly pronounced eh-LEN-ee, however, I have heard it pronounced eh-LAYN-ee. With Elanie, my first thought was that there was a typo in Elaine.

If her name was indeed EL-en-ee, then it's a pronunciation that I've never heard before.

I keep misreading it as Elaine, and I can't shake it. Elanie therefore has too much of a potential confusion going on for me.

I prefer Melanie or the aforementioned Elaine.

It has a very catchy ring to it. I really like the way your name is spelled, I know a Mikah but he spells his name Micah.

It's quite catchy. I'm not sure how I feel about it, but it does have a ring to it. Unfortunately, a lot of people would probably mistake it for Melanie. :(

I think it's pretty, too. With that spelling, though, I initially read, "el-AHN-ee."

My sister went to School with an Elanie. I think it was spelt Ellanie though.
