Here--this might be the easiest way to clear up some conclusion. I've made a sound file of me reading out my message, being careful to enunciate the differences. If you can't (or won't :) download it, think of the differences this way:
uh-LAH-nah: With an AH as in the name Don
uh-LAA-nah: With an AA as in the name Dan
uh-LAW-nah: With an AW as in the name Dawn
