I want to like it more than I do.
I've been called Vanessa before (because of people mixing up V names), and it wasn't terrible, but I didn't like it much. I actually prefer the time I was called Virginie. Vanessa felt dated and kind of vanilla, like Hannah vaguely but 10 years older. Or it's like Melissa - dated, pleasant enough, but...very soft in a way I don't identify with.
And at the same time, it feels a bit catty. Like, I can imagine Tiffany, Vanessa, and Nikki being spiteful to each other.

It is like Hannah, just slightly older. And it definitely has a catty feeling.
