[Opinions] Arrow
WDYT of Arrow?
Boy, or girl?
Any middle name suggestions?

I don't dislike it. I wouldn't use it, but I'm kind of charmed by it, I think because of the movie I referenced below. It's more of a boy name. I don't feel that it's as random as others do. It implies focus, direction, movement.

I’m going to say “boy” but I’m not really a fan.
I really don't like it. It doesn't feel like a name to me, and if one were to name a human after an object, I don't know why one would choose "arrow," a phallic weapon (redundant?)...
I don't care for Arrow but it would be ok as a middle name.
Boy only.
Boy only.
I always think of Harry Nilsson. "Me and my arrow, straighter than narrow..."
Other than that, it comes across about like Ampersand, Feather, Sundial, Dagger, or Ammo would.
I'd prefer Archer just because it's not a manmade object, or something like Junipero, Vero, Sparrow, Erik for a similar sound.
It also vaguely reminds me of Eros, I guess.

I’m kind of undecided. I love Archer for a boy, but Arrow is wobbling on my radar and Im unsure about it.
Definitely for a boy.
I think I’d prefer it for a middle name, it’s kind of awkward.
Arrow Nathaniel
Arrow James
Arrow Malachi
Arrow Montgomery
Arrow Elijah
Arrow Pierce
Maybe I’ve changed my mind. I like the combos I’ve made.
Definitely for a boy.

Not huge on Arrow, but I like Fletcher which is sort of along the same theme.

I knew a dog named Arrow and I thought it sounded random and kind of bizarre on him. On a child, it sounds even more bizarre. Like you just picked a random word because you already had twenty kids and you were just out of options.
Arrow is a dog in one of the best kids' cartoon movies ever, The Point, which is all about a boy with a round head in a world full of people with pointed heads. My doggie growing up had an arrow shape on her head and I used to sing Arrow's song at her.

Like you were so out of ideas that you decided you'd name the kid after the first thing you saw at a given time. Like those people we sometimes see on here that claim things like "Our daughter is named Wren because the day we found out we were pregnant a little wren flew over us and crapped on my head." Only this time, they're walking down the road and see an arrow pointing somewhere and bam! kid's named Arrow. If the sign had said Detour I guess they'd have named him that.

It just seems so random as a name. It's not really nature-y, it's not a virtue, it's not a place or an abstract idea. It's just a random word. It might work for a dog, or a horse, if they're especially fast.
