[Opinions] Venus
Today's name of the day is Venus. WDYT?
I have two associations with Venus: 1. the planet (obviously); and 2. Venus Williams. Now, people certainly use names from astronomy - most often stars and moons - but it's much rarer to be named after a whopping planet in our solar system. Other than perhaps Mars, this is the only one that can be reasonably used for humans. (I've certainly never met a Jupiter or a Mercury.) It's a lot of name. Couple that with Venus Williams being as famous as she is, and it might be too big for most people. (I also happen to prefer Aphrodite anyway.)

Romantic.
I like it.
I can only imagine the planet.
only as a planet
I don’t like names too strongly associated with beauty, I don’t think the sound of Venus is particularly nice either.
I have always associated the name Venus with mythology and have always adored the name. In Italian mythology, Venus is a Goddess associated with cultivated fields and gardens. In Roman mythology, Venus is a Goddess whose functions encompassed love, beauty, desire, sex, fertility, prosperity, and victory. I know to most this would make the name undesirable but it honestly doesn't affect how I feel about the name, I mainly focus on the beauty part because my name, Kalista, is a variant to the Greek name Kallistō, a name meaning "most beautiful". I think I like it mostly because it has a similar meaning to my name.
