[Opinions] Coworker BAs
One of my fiance's coworkers is having a second daughter in October, and they just announced that her name will be Kendall James. Their other daughter is a two or three and her name is Avery Grace.
--> I think that Kendall James is really masculine, for a little girl. I also expected something a bit more popular, as Avery was and is a bit more popular than Kendall, on young children, at least.
In addition to the announcement at my fiance's job, I've had two in the past week, which is quite a bit! The first announcement was from my principal, who's daughter just had twin girls- Nayeli and Naomi. They have older brothers named Jaddua and Gabriel. Middle names weren't mentioned in the announcement.
--> I think the names are a bit too similar to be twins. Especially if they are identical, though I'm not sure if they are. I think that people will get confused, fairly often.
The final announcement this week was also from my workplace, as a coworker announced her pregnancy and the baby's name all at once. Her name is going to be Palmyr Sabrina.
--> I am not a fan of Palmyr, at all. I dislike Palmer on either gender, but I think Palmyr, on a girl, is even worse. Sabrina is fine, but overall I'm not a fan of the combo.

Sisters named Avery and Kendall definitely sound like they have the same parents, and I actually think Kendall by itself is more feminine than Avery (Kendall sometimes feels like a feminine variant of Kenneth to me). However, if I see the combo "Kendall James" anywhere I will definitely assume the bearer is male, and I worry this will happen a lot to this little girl when teachers see her name on class rosters (among other places).
Nayeli & Naomi are both awesome! I'm not Mexican / Central American, so Nayeli would be off-limits to me IRL unless I had a kid of that descent; but Nayeli might be my favorite indigenous New World name, no joke. And Naomi is one of my actual favorite names! Of that sibset, Jaddua is making me raise my eyebrows and wonder why he drew such a short straw; but the rest of the names are great.
Sabrina is the epitome of sophistication and wit (I think of "Sabrina Fair" before "Sabrina the Teenage Witch"). No idea what the heck Palmyr is (so that definitely isn't a Palmyra typo?) or why it's bumping gorgeous Sabrina to the middle name slot.

I totally had to do a double-take when reading the announcement (email) for their daughter Kendall James, as I totally assumed it was a boy.
I also agree on Nayeli, I am not Central American or Mexican either, so I'd never be able to use it, but it strikes me as exceptionally beautiful. And I agree that Jaddua is the odd-one-out in that sibset.
And the only reason I know Palmyr = Palmer is my coworker said something like, "Her name is Palmer Sabrina, with a 'y' in place of the 'e'."

I'm not opposed to Kendall James… I just don't know how anyone could choose to name their kid Kendall without immediately thinking of Kendall Jenner.
Nayeli and Naomi are fine names, but you're right, lots of people will probably confuse the twins even more.
I love Sabrina but I do not understand Palmyr at all. Like, Palmer isn't even a good name.

Yeah, my fiance said he immediately thought of Kendall Jenner upon hearing the name. And, I agree with you on the Palmyr thing.
Kendall is a little dated on a girl, but the combo Kendall James sounds like a boy. Kendall might not be as dated on a boy. Kinda like Mackenzie.
I think Avery sounds pretty masculine too but Avery Grace definitely sounds like a girl. Did they pick James as the mn after someone in particular or did they just happen to use a fillery boy mn for a girl?
I love Nayeli. Naomi is nice too, but they're definitely too matchy for twins. I like Gabriel. I've never heard of Jaddua before but it makes me think of Star Wars (I guess because it sort of looks like Jabba).
Palmyr is weird, especially if it's supposed to be pronounced "Palmer". It looks like pal-MEER, like the beginning of Palmira / Palmiro. Sabrina is good, it was overused at one point and I'm not sure if it still is, but I still like it.

I am not sure if James is honoring or not. I can have my fiance ask on Monday. I had never heard of Jaddua before meeting his mother, either. Palmyr is supposed to be pronounced like Palmer, although I can see the pal-MEER thing, too.
Palmyr is uglier than a monkey's armpit. Palmer is bad enough.
Kendall James is just...yuck. I can't wrap my mind around why parents of girls do that. Not all that keen on Avery Grace either.
I love Sabrina. Hate Palmyr. Is that meant to be a feminized version of Palmer? Again, why?
Nayeli/Naomi and Jaddua/Gabriel are interesting pairs. In each set, one twin's name is pretty traditional. The other is kind of out there. Yet a third time, why??

That's exactly how I feel! Like, why?
I agree with everything you said.
