[Opinions] Heather
Isn't it kind of odd how Heather gives me a cheerleader image? It is such a nice plant and such a nature-y name, I thought it should give me similar images to Holly or River or Lily but instead it fits in more with Tiffany, Stephanie or Brittany. Maybe because it was popular and is dated?

I like it but I wouldn’t actually use it. It’s too dated plus it’s the name of my mom’s stepsister. I agree that it doesn’t have the nature name feel.
Were it not associated with snobby students attending fictional high schools, I'd like it a lot. It has pleasant imagery and a gentle sound.
I kind of like Heather. It's light and sweet.
I think it's nice
I like Heather, and it gives me calm, naturey vibes like Fern, Willow and Lavender. I know it's dated but I find it usable and fitting with current styles. I wouldn't be all too surprised if I saw it on a child, especially if her siblings have hippy / Bohemian names. Brittany and Tiffany feel just dated in style while Heather sounds both dated and stylish.
Not really. We can likely thank the movie Heathers for this image.
That said, if I'd been a mom in the late 80s / early 90s (so, like my mom), then Heather is very likely a name I would've considered. It's soft without being wispy.

You know, I agree with you. Heather does not immediately come to mind when I am thinking of nature names. I definitely tend to lump it in with names like Tiffany and Stephanie. I suppose because they were all so popular at the same time. It's much more appealing when seen as a nature name, though. Otherwise it feels quite dated. Shame because it really is pretty.
It gives me the same vibe. I knew of the name Heather before I knew about the plant. Heathers on TV when I was a kid were usually that blonde cheerleader type. I don't think I knew any Heathers my own age. I think I was born just a bit after the boom.
Oh wait, I do know one. She's kind of awful. She doesn't fit the stereotype physically but she is carelessly rude, which a lot of those types were on TV in the 90s.
I don't like the name, but it's a good bit nicer than Tiffany or Brittany. I happen to love Stephanie.

I think it's a very cute name, and I do think of the plant, but I also think of the movie.
I don't get the cheerleader-y thing. I've only known one girl my age named Heather and to me it is a nature-y name. It sounds real gentle
