Not a fan. It looks unpleasant and the sound of it isn't any better. It also makes me think of the "ermahgerd" phrase. Г:

YesssssIrmgard is a delight! I much prefer Ermengarde, which I find dazzlingly, romantically lovely, but Irmgard's spunk is undeniable.

Harsh and ugly. The “IRRRRRRM” part is grating.

It's a name from my family tree as well. It is quite old fashioned in Germany. But it does have a nice sound. It feels warm, so I like it. Irma and Irmi are super cute as nicknames.

Sounds fine in German, but I would expect people to guess ERMgard as if they were hesitating about something, and that puts me right off.My DD was at school with a girl named Irmela, who answered happily to EERmela and ERmela. I like that better.

I like it better than Irma, but it does have a clunky, old fashioned German feel. I imagine a strong, broad shouldered German woman with a farm who once captured an enemy soldier, who sneaked across the boarder, with a pitch fork. Nobody messes with Irmgard. I have a healthy respect for her.On the negative side, the pronunciation reminds me a little of this meme.
