I've been thinking a lot about Wisteria lately. In general, I balk at flower names derived from (male) botanists' last names (e.g.
Zinnia and
Dahlia), but Wisteria bothers me less than those names for some reason. I think I'm charmed by the name's poetic wistfulness. I know it was the name of the street where the titular "desperate housewives" lived, but I don't care about that. Perhaps most importantly, the flower is beautiful. What do you think?
