Thoughts? I put this in polls, but I kinda want to see how people feel here. Boy or girl or neither/both? Can it be a nn for something?

I don't like it at all. It doesn't have a very pleasant sound or appearance to it and it brings to mind fig newtons, which I find repulsive.

My little sister’s puppy is named this. She’s a girl. She’s mad cute. It is short for Figgy Pudding and/or Figtavia.

Neither. It reminds me of the fad in Australia in the late 90s and early 2000s to put FIG JAM on beach wear, standing for "F*ck I'm Good, Just Ask Me". Not something I would want as a name.

Seriously, this is not a name. It'd be like naming somebody Banana or Watermelon.
I can see somebody getting called Fig because, say, his last name's Figueroa or Figgenbottom or something, or even if the last name is Newton.

When my friend whose last name was Newton and I were in a little preteen “band” her nom de plume was Fig and I call her that sometiems still.

It’s a fruit that’s often eaten dry. I really don’t understand how anyone could think it makes a good name for a human being.

Neither. Better than Pineapple or Mango, but I don't care a fig for any of them.

I love Fig for a cat, either as a full name or as a nickname for something (e.g. Figaro).
I don't like it for a human, though. I just can't picture it working well on a person.

It's food item I use quite a bit. My mom just made a big batch of fig jam. I make cuccidati fig cookies for Christmas. I cannot separate it from the food at all. I think it is worse than Apple. At least Apple looks more like a name.
