[Opinions] Mimosa (Note: I don't care about the association with the alcoholic drink)
I'm totally charmed by this name that I'm sure many will denounce because of the alcoholic drink. If that's all you have to say about the name, kindly skip over this post. I love that it means "cuddly" and is also associated with the touch-me-not plant (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mimosa_pudica). The sounds, too, are lovely to me. Does anyone else like this much pilloried name? Some combos:Mimosa Aloisia
Mimosa Antigone

I find it a really pleasant name, and it would be a good contender for a kitty name someday for me, except that the sensitive plant is incredibly invasive and harmful. From your combos, I don't think any are "it," but these strike me -Mimosa Raphaela - wow, so striking, the contrast of powerful and, uh, what's the word... light? I should read more booksMimosa Ludmila - fun set of sounds, curiously botanical. Ludmila almost has a scent like a cocktail ingredient hereMimosa Lalage - this is the closest I've seen Lalage to "working"Mimosa Tihomira - oh my these names are little mice dressed up as ballerinasMimosa Daphne - this is so close to perfect, Daphne just feels the tiniest bit heavyMimosa Betony - quite good, Betony is a clog that is just slightly too big, but quite good nevertheless
I like Mimi, and I think if I did have a cat named this she would also be called Soso and Sosa a lot.

I associate it more with the flower and the cake. It’s cute in theory but I can’t imagine it on a real person.

I wasn't aware there was a drink.I like flower names personally, and I was aware of Mimosa as a flower, but also as a name from somewhere.I like it, I think it's pretty, but now that I'm aware it's associated with alcohol, it's going to go on my "alas" pile next to Brandy and Bailey :cMimosa Valentina and Mimosa Winifred are my favorites :)Edit: I asked my friend and she has never heard it as an alcoholic drink before either (and she drinks while I don't), but she associates it with food. It's apparently a type of salad.

I was skeptical, but the "cuddly" meaning sold me. Mimosa Eloise is precious.

We don't call the drink that here anyway. What I would be worried about though is insipid Mimi. The combinations are pretty, I think my favourite is Mimosa Ludmila.

What do you call the drink...Just out of curiosity.

Buck's Fizz

Buck's Fizz sounds like a deer needing to use the restroom. Mimosa is a much more appealing name for a drink.

origin of nameTo be fair, it was named after the club (Buck's) who invented it. So if it was invented by Harold / Harry , it would have been Harry's Fizz. It makes sense in context

The association with the place of orgin does explain the name. According to the internet, Buck's Fizz contains a higher ratio of champagne to orange juice than a Mimosa.I associate Mimosas with first class travel in movies and the Tequila Sunrise Mimosa at beach restraunts.

Ah so it's not the exact same drink. I've never heard of it before, personally. But I asked my friend (since I don't drink and I'm probably a bad person to ask for alcoholic associations) and she'd never heard of it as a drink either, but she recognises it from a type of salad. So salads. Probably better than alcohol depending on what your outlook on life is. To me, however, its a flower of a sunny yellow colour comparable to sunflowes, though I believe they can come in other colours.I went to have a look to clarify this and yes, Mimosa can refer to a couple of different plants including this one which I found quite funny;https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mimosa_pudica"Mimosa pudica" otherwise known as "sensitive plant", "touch-me-not" and "shameplant" lolThat particular one is purple in colour

Never heard of the salad! In Italy, besides the salad it’s the name of a kind of cake.

Ooo a cake is a much sweeter association xD I'm glad, looking at all the comments, that the alcohol isn't a) the most common association and b) the only association It's a cute name imo and will probably do nicely as a middle

Ah this is why I've never heard of Mimosa as an alcoholic beveragealso I like Bucks Fizz (the singing group)

I think it's darling and I will not hold the drink against it either. It would be a sweet pet name, too. Of your combos, I'm liking Mimosa Madelief.
