I've recently fallen in love with this Slavic beauty (basically the Slavic analogue of Theodora / Dorothea). I find it glamorous in an earthy, no-nonsense way. Are there any other admirers out there?

Bogdana has some beautifully earthy feel, but... I don't really like the -dana part. Bogdan is good.
Bogdana Leopolda, and Bogdana Ludovika are good combos!

I’m from New York, so it kinda sounded and looked like Bodega for a quick second there. But anyways, the name is decent. Bogdana Eveline / Aveline would be an option.

Being a Slav I couldn't help the knee-jerk reaction of "it's ugly" but thinking about it I can see what you mean. I would give it a sickeningly sweet, short middle name. Bogdana Mae comes to mind. Bogdana Lily, Bogdana Amy, Bogdana Mollie, Bogdana Shelly are all lovely to me.

Yes! I get what you mean by "earthy." Bogdana has a calm energy to it. I think it's a really lovely name and I love when I'm able to use it in BNGs. I'm not sure how usable it is outside of a Slavic country, but all it takes is one person to use it and then it's a hit : )
Bogdana Winifred is SO perfect. Bogdana Millicent is a close second.
A few other ideas that I think might fit in with your style: Bogdana Faustine, Bogdana Vasiliki, or Bogdana Mildred.

I love it. It's really pretty. The nickname Boggie would be cute on a little girl.

I very much dislike it, similiar to the view of many. Undoubtedly. It's one of the most unappealing names out there and it's easy to see why. It's also very harsh and heavy. Certainly the opposite of a weak and flimsy name but not in a good way.

I like it for a character. It definitely sounds like a bog / swamp witch kind of name. It doesn't work with any delicate or predestrian middle names, it needs to be at least a little dark or abrasive.

For me, Bogdana and it's other Slavic-language variants like Bohumila, Božena, etc. don't work because it's literally like "god's gift" of "loving god" etc. I do really like Slavic names though, even the older, weirder ones that aren't in use much anymore.

They're neat ecologically, but tend to be treacherous, full of bloodsucking bugs and decay, which makes them foul smelling and pretty miserable to be around by human standards.
It's one thing if it coincidentally matches a word in another language, but a bog is not something most people would want to be named after intentionally, in English.

I hadn't heard a toilet called a bog before. In the United States, a bog refers to wet, spongy, poorly drained soil that is often acidic and full of accumulated plant material like peat and moss.

Right, but now that you know, and realizing that in this global culture peoples’ children will travel or possibly emigrate to places where bogs are commonly associated with toilets, you can see how this would put a lot of people off. Even ones from the U.S.

Bohdana sounds the same as those and is a variant. I think it's more approachable.
