Briar sounds very masculine to me, so I don't like it for a girl. It's only so-so for a boy.
Blair sounds like something someone would say when they're disgusted by something, so I don't like this as a name in general.
Ps. Could you try and combine posts next time? Asking for opinions could easily be done in 1 post.

YES!!! Blair sounds like a sound effect for disgust. Like "blech" or "blaarg".
