[Opinions] Eliana

I really don't like it, mostly because I dislike the nickname Ellie, and this entire name is built around that nickname.
I've liked it for years and would consider it for a future daughter. The only thing that puts me off is that I have a co-worker who's youngest daughter is named this. And I don't want anyone to think that I'm a copycat. I was quite upset when he and his wife picked this name for their daughter haha.
This sort of name was totally my jam when I was like 12. So delicate! Such a princess name! Such a nice meaning! But now it doesn't impress me. "-iana" names are a tricky thing. They are so pretty they teeter a bit. Eliana suffers from sounding like a fluffy, overly-trendy confection. It's Ellie + Ariana.
Aeliana is more interesting to look at.

I don't like it. The name itself is boring, and it's too trendy.
Ileana, which has a similar sound, is interesting.

One of my least favorite names
It's an absolute trifle of a name.

Same, it's made of sugar and then iced with too much icing. If I got a bag of sweets and one was Eliana I would throw it away.
I really dislike it. It's so popular. I think it sounds kind of whiny.
Nice
It used to be one of my favorites. I still love its meaning.
I don't like it much anymore for these reasons:
- it doesn't really stick out, there are so many similar names: Ella, Eleanor, Elena, Ellie, Ariana, Briana, Aviana, Aliana etc. etc.
- she will probably end up as just another Ellie
- I hate how there are so many misspellings around like Elliana and Ellyana
- I love the Italian pronunciation which sounds more like eh-lee-AH-na, I don't really like it as ell-lee-ANN-a
- getting common and could become a fad-name
