I like the sound, but this transcription (even though it's how you get the nair-uh ending) has so many vowels that it's confusing to look at. I prefer Deianira, with the neer-uh ending, even though it's still a lot of vowels. I think this is one of those cases where the idea is better than the reality.

Pronunciation would always be a problem. I suspect that the name was invented to fit the story ... but it is a depressing meaning to carry with one for a lifetime.

I like it. The double "ei" thing makes it look longer than it is. I'd say day-a-nayr-a.

It's a beautiful sounding name to my ears. But the meaning - ouch, I would not use that except for a character.

I pronounce it de-ya-NAY-ra.I don't really like it. It's kind of hard to pronounce and write. I prefer its Spanish form, Yanira.
