It reminds me of an acquaintance of mine's daughter: she had named her
Olivié pronounce the same way as
Olivier but everyone still calls her
Olivia because Americans are dumb. I would still pronounce it "oh-liv-EE instead of Oh-liv-EE-ay like how the mother's pronunciation is desired via the accent mark had she not corrected me.
