[Opinions] Re: Polish names
in reply to a message by )(
Joanna - I don't really care for the full name (though the Polish pronunciation is miles ahead of the English one IMO) but I love Joasia/Asia. If I was having a daughter right this moment, Joanna would be my top pick.
Nadia
Agnieszka
Jagoda
Noemi
Katarzyna - it's pretty but it's Kasia that makes me love it!
Maria - the full name doesn't appeal to me at all but Marysia is too adorable!
Róża
Lidia
Krystyna - Krysia!
Elżebieta - full name is very "meh" but Ela is fine and Halszka is mesmerising
Aldona
Józefa - Józia is almost unbearably sweet but it will only work on a small child
Halina - another old lady name on my list that might not quite works as well at all stages of life, super pretty though
Lucyna - I don't like the full name at all but I can't shake Lucynka off recently, it's so endearing!
Grażyna - no good nicknames and it's a meme but I still love it
Tekla - no good nicknames and it's both an old lady name and pretty obscure
Dżesika - the only acceptable Polish spelling, this is my hill to die onMichał
Oskar
Emil
Jędrzej
Marcel
Tomasz
Feliks - I don't think I could consistently call a little boy Feliks and there aren't any alternatives I like, Felek? Feluś? Maybe they have to grow on me. I have mixed feelings on usability.
Janusz - a meme but still a beautiful name, slightly tainted by the meme but I have loved it long before and refuse to back down
Maksymilian
Klemens - it's the masculine equivalent of Tekla in usability
Włodzimierz - Włodek is amusingly adorable, 11/10, but wouldn't use for the same reasons I wouldn't use Józefahttps://www.behindthename.com/pnl/109883

I can't believe I didn't know Halszka was short for Elżbieta.
