I came across this name while looking for French names in general. When I first saw it I got interested and decided to read more about it. It's a shame that this name is sort of archaic, because it's really handsome and charming.
I picture a young French man (around 25 years old) in a medieval noir novel, who is a vampire living in a castle.
French pronunciation: a-lee-DAWR
(Hypothetical) English pronunciation: AL-ee-dər
