[Opinions] Candace
I love the name Candace. Can you think of names of that style and "modern" names of that style? What would you consider a masculine type Candace name? How would you describe a Candace?

Candace is a mom name and dated. Imo. I would use it as a middle name. It also reminds me of Amanda. It's so old fashioned but still sounds youthful. I do love the modern day, Cadence which is much better.

I was reminded of how ancient Candace is the other day: I was in London at the British Museum, and they have a mummy of someone named Cleopatra, who was the daughter of Candace. Thousands of years old! I love that it was a name for ancient queens.I like how Candace is so weirdly ancient-modern, and I even like that it has the silly "Candy" nickname. I'm actually developing a fondness for this class of names that have a deep history but also a bimbo side. So stuff like Tiffany, Tamara, Victoria, Deborah, Cassandra, uh.....I can't think of any more, but they are out there!Of course, all the Candaces I've known have been awful. Mean Girls. Popular and cruel. Not blonde, interestingly. Candace seems like a "blonde" name to me (well, Candy does). I don't know if any of them spelled Candace "correctly" though. I've known a Kandice, a Kandyce, and a Candice....I guess a masculine Candace name would be something similarly ancient-modern-dated. Maybe.....Brian. Although that's not as ancient. Rex? That's an old word that has become sort of cheesy and dated. Oh, Justin! That's quite an old name, you'd never know it.

There is a little girl named Candace next door to our house. I don't know which way it is spelled. Not sure of her age either. Maybe 5 or so?Anyway I think it is a very pretty option if Candy can be avoided.

It's nice. A bit 70s but not overly so. Still works well today.I also love Cadence.I always just think of Candace Cameron, but of when she was on "Full House" because I watched that as a kid sometimes. So blond, fun, friendly.Candice looks more elegant and I think of a beautiful woman with dark eyes, hair and skin.Cadence is my favorite, it is so calm and nice. But the style is different.Names that feel similar to Candace:Cassandra
CharisCassandra is the only one the gives me a super similar feeling because it is Greek and was somewhat popular at the same time. Charis was never popular.I can't think of boys names that match it...maybe Adrian?

You reminded me of Candace Cameron! I grew up watching Full House too! "Friday TGIF!" LOL
Cadence is nice and I love Cassandra! I think Candice looks more simple... most Candaces I knew spellled it like that.A match in Adrian makes sense.

I like Candace too, but even the possibility of the tacky, cliched-hottie-nn Candy would prevent me from using it.It's grown-up and sophisticated but not over the top. Simone has a similar vibe to me, also Tamara, Pamela and Crystal.

I have known a few Candices and no one went by Candy. Candace is sophisticated to me.Not a fan of Tamara or Crystal BUT Pamela makes sense.
