I'd think it was cute. A little bit of Americana. It wouldn't have seemed that weird to give it when, not only was Cher the singer popular, but tons of people were named Cheryl and Sherry and Sharon already.

I don't like Cher as a full name - too much celeb image - but I do kinda like Cheryl, and Cherilyn. Sherry is one of my favorites.
