Alexander is very handsome. The meaning is quite nice, but the majority pretty much shorten it to Alex. I’ve only known one Alexander “Alex” before.
It’s pretty much in the same category as Adam, Blake, Connor, Joshua, or Dylan for me personally. Masculine, handsome, but quite overused.
