I think it hasn't caught on because it was too distinct as a celebrity baby name. I remember baby Suri being SUCH a big deal. I think it's too tied to the TomKat phenomena and that's why it never caught on. It is cute but I think it's also too "Other" for most people - apparently it's really popular in Hasidic/Orthodox Jewish communities?
It is sweet and chipper. The i-ending is a bit anticlimactic for me, I always struggle with those.
