I love Maisie / Maisy, it’s such a pretty name. I don’t find it too cutesy to stand alone at all, but then I love a lot of these style of nicknames as full names names. Not sure why it went up in popularity, fell and is rising again, hard to say. I love the name Mae too and May is also sweet, but I prefer Maisie / Maisy. I go back and forth on which spelling I prefer there.
