Hilarious! When a colleague was expecting her first child, there was much talk of names and her husband, almost jokingly, put Scholastica forward. They were a very academic family ... but I thought fast and pointed out that it would naturally shorten to something sounding like Skollie, which is Afrikaans for Gangster. And we heard no more about Scholastica! Btw, the baby was a boy and they named him Benedict.
