Help[Opinions] Yanice & Ainsleigh
Yanice was a name in today’s paper. My guess would be that it’s meant to be a female version of the male name Yanis. WDYT?

I once had a teacher whose name was Ainsley. I would say she is about 50 years old at present. Where I live, I could see Yanice being pronounced Ya-neece. I'm not even sure if that would be right. Don't like either one really but if I had to pick, it would be Ainsleigh.

I would be happier with Ainsleigh if it had been the less ornate Ainsley. But I don't like either of them.
Yanice, when I saw it in the heading, made me think that someone who speaks a language in which J makes a Y sound had liked the idea of Janice and used Y to make sure that everyone got the pronunciation right.
