[Opinions] Brooklynn Rose
is my first cousin's baby's name. I don't think Brooklynn is too celebified (though I admit the Beckhams' baby boy was the first Brooklyn I was aware of), I think it's too citified - as in, Brooklyn, NY, which is a place after which I personally would not name a child, boy or girl. But on its face, if you look at the components Brook(e) and Lynn, it makes perfect sense to be a girl's name. I have no problem with it for itself, I would only say that it's likely to be assumed to have been inspired by celeb use. Plus Rose, as beautiful and simple and classic as it is, is getting flogged to death as the single most popular girl's mn currently in the English language, near as I can tell.
