I'm not a huge fan of -issa names (except for Anissa, I like that one) but I would pick Larissa before Clarissa. Or Carissa before either; Larissa and Clarissa both sound prissy to me.
Nerissa, Elissa, Alissa are also pretty good. Narcissa would be good if it was just a flower and the word narcissism didn't exist. I don't like Melissa or Marissa.
The more I look at -issa on this thread, the more I think I prefer -isa.

Clarissa
Clarissa gets my vote, that's an old favorite of mine.
If you don't mind -yssa names instead, I also like Alyssa and Ulyssa.

Larissa, Clarissa, Narcissa, and Melissa
I like them plus Melissa, Marissa, Carissa, Nerissa
I associate Larissa with Lara, which bores me. I associate Clarissa with Clare, which I love, so that would be my choice. However, I also find -issa names rather too frilly and wannabe cutesy - I particularly dislike Melissa - so I'd certainly use Clare instead.
The exception, with a minor spelling tweak, is Vanessa, which I do like.

-issa names aren't my favorite, but I guess if I had to choose one it would be either Melissa or Marissa.
My favorite-issa names are Marissa, Clarissa and Nerissa. I don't like Carissa as much but I couldn't articulate to you why. Larissa is fine but I feel Clarissa is superior. I like to use Think Baby Names for if I want to research specific elements of names like this *for some reason I sometimes have issues with the search tool on this site*
