I'm not a fan. Just don't like the KY sound.

I actually like Kyra and I prefer it to Kira, which I pronounce it different way.

Kyra has a nice modern feel without being trendy and it can age well. Beautiful name and it has interesting meanings.

I pronounce it like Tyra (Banks). Kira would be "KEER-a."

I’d read it as k-EAR-uh.

I like it best as kEAR-ah like an ear, so I usually opt for the Kira spelling in my mind. Though I like Kyra too but as you've pointed out it isn't always clear which pronunciation.

Fun fact: I first decided I liked this name as an early teen watching "6th Sense" for the first time. Kyra was the puking "I'm feeling much better now" ghost XD kind of morbid but meh.. lol
